Who Are We?

We are a team of creatives passionate about knowledge living in different corners of the world, from Yerevan to London. The founder of Serious Science is Ivar Maksutov (based in London, UK), a founder of PostNauka, which has grown into one of Eastern Europe's most influential educational platforms over the last 12 years. Ivar has organized and managed over 100 brand marketing projects with big tech companies, banks, universities, and NGOs, such as the British Council, UNESCO, MSD, etc. Currently, he is an Oxford Executive MBA student. How Do We Collaborate with Academics?

Contemporary scientists from the world’s leading laboratories and research universities participate in creating content for the website. Our experts provide first-hand accounts of their fields of knowledge and familiarize the readers with cutting-edge scientific discoveries.

We have already collaborated with more than 370 of the world’s leading researchers from MIT, Harvard, Cambridge, LSE, UCL, King’s College, and other academic institutions. Among them are 8 Nobel Prize laureates, such as Harold Walter Kroto, Roy J. Glauber, Richard Henderson, and Didier Queloz.

What Allows Us to Explain Complex Scientific Concepts?

Our new formats combine academic expertise with visual narrative and explanatory storytelling. We created them to widen our audience and promote our mission of helping readers and viewers develop scientific thinking.

– Longreads Our articles provide insights into the latest scientific discoveries. We also publish in-depth interviews with scientists so that readers can better understand their thinking processes.

– Infographics Our visualizations of scientific facts allow us to present data in a way that readers can easily memorize.

– Animated shorts Our animation illustrates complex scientific concepts through visual images. We also intend to produce video explainers that combine scientists’ speeches with illustrations and infographics.
